Guabito is a small town in Panama. It is located in the Bocas del Toro Province, which is on the Caribbean coast. Guabito is part of the Changuinola District. A "corregimiento" is like a local administrative area or division within a district.

Location and Border

Guabito is special because it is a border town. It sits right next to the Rio Sixaola. This river forms the border with Costa Rica. Directly across the river is a town called Sixaola in Costa Rica.

There is an old, raised railroad bridge that connects Guabito to Sixaola. This bridge is a popular way for tourists to travel between Costa Rica and the Bocas del Toro area of Panama. Most tourists just pass through Guabito to get their travel documents checked. They usually do not stay long in the town.
