Guan Xiaotong (Chinese: 关晓彤) was born on September 17, 1997. She is a Chinese actress and singer. She comes from the Manchu ethnic group.
Guan Xiaotong is famous for her roles in movies like The Left Ear and Shadow. She also starred in the TV show To Be a Better Man. Her family encouraged her love for the arts from a young age. She first acted in a film called Nuan when she was only four years old.
Forbes China recognized Guan Xiaotong in their Asia 2017 list. This list featured 30 influential people under 30 years old. They were chosen for making a big impact in their fields. In China, Guan is often called the "Nation's Daughter." She is also seen as one of the top young actresses of her generation.

About Guan Xiaotong
Guan Xiaotong grew up in Beijing, China. She comes from a family of performers. Her father, Guan Shaozeng, was an actor. Her grandfather, Guan Xuezeng, was a famous artist who started Beijing Qinshu, a type of folk art.
Her family helped her develop a love for the arts very early on. She got her first acting role in the movie Nuan when she was just four years old. In 2016, Guan Xiaotong was accepted into the Beijing Film Academy. This is a very good school for actors. She placed first in both the acting and written parts of the Chinese College Entrance Examinations.
Her Acting Journey
Guan Xiaotong first became known for her role in the movie Nuan. This film was based on a short story by the famous author Mo Yan. The movie was well-liked in both China and Japan.
Becoming a Child Star
She became more famous as a child actress in Chen Kaige's film The Promise. In this movie, she played the younger version of a main character. She continued to act in many TV shows and movies, building her career.
Her popularity grew a lot when she starred in the 2014 TV series May December Love. This show was very popular in China. She also acted in One Servant of Two Masters. For this role, she won an award for Best Supporting Actress. After these shows aired, Chinese media started calling her the "Nation's Daughter."
Later Roles and Music
In 2015, Guan Xiaotong starred in the coming-of-age movie The Left Ear. She won an award for Most Promising Actress at the Macau International Movie Festival. In the same year, she also released her first music album, called Eighteen.
In 2016, she starred in the family drama Papa Can You Hear Me Sing. This was a new version of a classic Taiwanese film. She then acted in the romance drama To Be A Better Man. Both of these shows were very popular in China. Guan won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Shanghai Television Festival for her role in To Be a Better Man. She also took on her first main adult role in the fantasy drama Novoland: Castle in the Sky. For this role, she won the Best Actress award at the 7th Macau International Television Festival.
In 2017, Guan played the main female role in the fantasy action drama Xuan-Yuan Sword: Han Cloud. She also starred in the romance comedy series Love of Aurora.
In 2018, Guan starred in the historical romance drama Untouchable Lovers. She also appeared in the sports romantic comedy series Sweet Combat. That same year, she acted in Zhang Yimou's martial arts film Shadow. She received good reviews for playing a clever princess in this movie. She was also cast in the fantasy romance film The Story of Turandot with Dylan Sprouse.
In 2020, Guan starred in the youth drama Twenty Your Life On, which focused on young women. She also appeared in the romance comedy film Oversize Love.
Helping Others
In 2017, Guan Xiaotong became an ambassador for "World Life Day." This was a special campaign by groups like the United Nations Environment Programme and International Fund for Animal Welfare. They work to protect animals and the environment.
