Guan Xiaotong (born September 17, 1997) is a popular Chinese actress and singer. She is of Manchu heritage, an ethnic group from Northeast China. Guan is famous for her roles in movies like The Left Ear and Shadow, and the TV show To Be a Better Man.
Because she started acting at a very young age and grew up on screen, she is known in China as the "Nation's Daughter." She is considered one of the most talented young actresses of her generation. In 2017, Forbes magazine named her one of the 30 most influential people in Asia under the age of 30.

Early Life and Family
Guan Xiaotong was born in Beijing, China, into a family of performers. Her father, Guan Shaozeng, was an actor, and her grandfather, Guan Xuezeng, was a famous master of Beijing qinshu, a type of musical storytelling.
Her family encouraged her love for acting and the arts from a young age. She got her first movie role when she was only four years old in the film Nuan.
In 2016, Guan was accepted into the famous Beijing Film Academy. She scored the highest on both the acting and written parts of the national college entrance exams, showing she was talented and smart.
Acting Career
A Young Star
Guan first became known for her role in the movie Nuan, which was based on a short story by the famous writer Mo Yan. The movie was a success in both China and Japan.
She gained even more fame as a child actress in the 2005 movie The Promise, where she played the younger version of the main character. After that, she appeared in many more movies and TV shows.
In 2014, her popularity grew with the TV series May December Love and One Servant of Two Masters. Her performance in One Servant of Two Masters won her a Best Supporting Actress award. These roles made her a household name and earned her the nickname "Nation's Daughter."
Leading Roles and Awards
In 2015, Guan starred in the movie The Left Ear and won the Most Promising Actress award at the Gold Aries Award ceremony. That same year, she also released her first music album, called Eighteen.
In 2016, she starred in the popular TV shows To Be A Better Man and Novoland: The Castle in the Sky. She won Best Supporting Actress for To Be a Better Man and Best Actress for Novoland: The Castle in the Sky. These awards proved she was a skilled actress who could play different kinds of characters.
In 2018, Guan starred in the historical movie Shadow, directed by the famous Zhang Yimou. Critics praised her for playing a princess with a secret. She also starred in the TV shows Untouchable Lovers and Sweet Combat.
In 2020, she starred in the popular drama Twenty Your Life On, which was about the lives of young women.
Personal Life and Other Activities
In 2017, Guan became an ambassador for "World Life Day." This was a campaign by the United Nations Environment Programme and other groups to protect animals and nature.
On October 8, 2017, it was announced that Guan was dating Lu Han, a famous singer and actor who was her co-star in the TV series Sweet Combat.
