Guarita is a municipality in Honduras. It is located in the Lempira department.
Guarita is one of the oldest towns in the Lempira department. The best way to reach Guarita is by traveling through Santa Rosa de Copán, San Marcos de Ocotepeque, and Cololaca. This trip usually takes about 2.5 hours. This route is much easier than going through Gracias. The road is in good condition for most of the year.

History of Guarita
Guarita has a long and interesting history. In 1791, it was part of an area called "El Curato de Sensenti." Guarita officially became a municipality on November 20, 1795. Later, it was given the status of a city on March 20, 1934.
Geography and Environment
Guarita is located on the side of a mountain. It is surrounded by beautiful forests of pine and oak trees. The mountains and hills in the area are very steep and uneven. The weather in Guarita has been getting warmer over the years. This change is partly due to the cutting down of trees in the forests.

Guarita shares its borders with several other places:
- To the North: It borders the municipalities of Cololaca and San Sebastián.
- To the South: It borders the country of El Salvador.
- To the East: It borders the municipalities of Tambla and San Juan Guarita.
- To the West: It borders the Cololaca municipality and El Salvador.
The total area of Guarita is about 172 square kilometers.
