Gurgen Mikayeli Boryan (born June 20, 1915 – died April 15, 1971) was a famous Armenian poet and playwright. He wrote many poems and plays that people still enjoy today.

Gurgen Boryan's Life and Writings
Gurgen Boryan was born in the city of Shusha. He started his writing career in 1930. His first collection of poems came out in 1937.
His Poetry Collections
Boryan wrote several collections of poems. Some of his well-known works include "The Way to the Sea" (published in 1940) and "Selected Works" (from 1953). He also released a collection simply titled "Poems" in 1954.
Poems for Young Readers
Gurgen Boryan also wrote poetry especially for children. These collections include "Yes and No," which was published in 1955. Another one was "Under the Same Roof," released in 1957.
Plays and Theatre Works
Besides poetry, Boryan was also a talented playwright. His plays, like "House on the Roads," were performed at the Sundukian Theatre in Yerevan. One of his most famous plays was the basis for the film "Saroyan Brothers." This movie was made by Armenfilm, a well-known film studio.
Gurgen Boryan passed away in Yerevan in 1971. His works continue to be an important part of Armenian literature.
