Guy Helminger was born on January 20, 1963, in a town called Esch-sur-Alzette in Luxembourg. He is the younger brother of another writer, Nico Helminger.
He loved learning about German literature and philosophy. He studied these subjects in Luxembourg, Heidelberg, and Cologne. Since 1985, he has lived in Cologne, Germany.
Guy Helminger writes different kinds of stories. He writes poetry, which are beautiful poems. He also writes plays for the theater. And he writes novels, which are longer stories.
One of his plays, called Morgen ist Regen, was very popular. It means "Tomorrow is Rain." This play was even translated into English as "Venezuela." It was performed in London in 2003.
