Gyeongjong of Goryeo (born Wang Ju) was the fifth king of the Goryeo dynasty in Korea. He was born on November 9, 955, and became king in 975. He ruled until his death on August 13, 981, at the age of 26.
When Gyeongjong became king, he created an important system called the Jeonsigwa. This system helped manage land and ensure that government officials were paid fairly. He also showed kindness by pardoning people who had been treated unfairly by the previous king. He even gave them back their titles. Later in his rule, Gyeongjong enjoyed spending time with everyday people and playing games like baduk (a strategy board game).
