Héctor Anibal Maestri Garcia (born April 19, 1935 – died February 21, 2014) was a professional baseball pitcher. He was born in Cuba and played in Major League Baseball (MLB). Maestri is known for playing for two different Washington Senators teams. Both teams were in the American League during the 20th century.

Who Was Héctor Maestri?
Héctor Maestri was a right-handed pitcher. He was one of only nine baseball players to play for both Washington Senators teams. These were the original team and the new team that replaced them. Even more unique, he was one of only three players to play for them in back-to-back seasons. He only played one game for each of these teams.
Starting His Baseball Journey
In 1956, the first Washington Senators team signed Maestri. Four years later, this team moved to Minneapolis–St. Paul and became the Minnesota Twins. A new team was then created in Washington, D.C. to replace them. This new team was called the expansion Senators. Maestri was chosen by this new team in a special draft for new teams in 1960.
Playing for Two Senators Teams
Héctor Maestri was about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 170 pounds. His first game in MLB was for the original Senators. This happened on September 24, 1960. He pitched two innings without letting the other team score. This game was against the Baltimore Orioles at Griffith Stadium.
Almost a year later, on September 17, 1961, he played his second and last MLB game. This time, it was for the new expansion Washington team. He started the game and pitched six innings. His team played against the Kansas City Athletics at Griffith Stadium. He gave up three runs, but only one of them was an "earned run." His team lost the game 3–2.
