Hüntwangen is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Zürich, within the Bülach district.

History of Hüntwangen

Hüntwangen was first mentioned in official records way back in 1254. At that time, its name was written as Hiuntwangin.

Geography of Hüntwangen

Hüntwangen covers an area of about 4.9 square kilometers (about 1.9 square miles). A large part of this land, about 50.9%, is used for farming. Forests cover another 32.9% of the area. The remaining land is used for buildings and roads (13.6%), or it includes natural features like rivers (2.6%).

The municipality is located on the western edge of a region known as the Rafzerfeld. This area is found north of the famous Rhine River.
