Glattfelden is a town, also known as a municipality, in Switzerland. It's located in the canton of Zürich, which is like a state or region. Glattfelden is part of the Bülach district and sits in the beautiful Glatt Valley.

History of Glattfelden
Glattfelden has a long and interesting past! The town was first mentioned in official writings way back in 1130. At that time, it was known by a slightly different name: Glatevelden.
Geography and Location
Glattfelden covers an area of about 12.3 square kilometers (that's about 4.7 square miles). A large part of this land, almost half (47.3%), is used for farming. About one-third (32.1%) is covered by forests.
The town itself, with its buildings and roads, makes up 17.5% of the land. The remaining small part (3.1%) includes natural features like rivers. Glattfelden is located at the end of the Glatt valley. It includes the main village of Glattfelden, plus smaller communities like Zweidlen, Schachen, and Rheinsfelden. There's even a small part of the town called Neuhaus that's separate from the main area, known as an exclave.
