Hadise Açıkgöz (born October 22, 1985) is a famous singer, songwriter, dancer, and TV star. She was born in Belgium but is also a citizen of Turkey. Her family comes from the Sivas region of Turkey.
Hadise became well-known after being on the Belgian singing show Idool 2003 in 2003. She then released her first album, Sweat, in 2005. This album had five hit songs. It also helped her win awards in both Belgium and Turkey.
She continued her successful music career in Belgium and Turkey. Her album Hadise (2008) featured songs in both English and Turkish. The song "Deli Oğlan" from this album became a number-one hit in Turkey.
In 2009, Hadise proudly represented Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest. Her song was called "Düm Tek Tek". It scored 177 points, helping Turkey finish fourth in the competition. "Düm Tek Tek" was also her first number-one song in Belgium. After this, she released more albums like Fast Life (2009) and Kahraman (2009).
Besides music, Hadise has also worked on TV. She hosted the Belgian version of The X Factor. Since 2011, she has been a judge on O Ses Türkiye, which is the Turkish version of The Voice.

Early life and first steps in music
Hadise Açıkgöz was born in Mol, Belgium, on October 22, 1985. Her parents moved to Belgium from Sivas, Turkey. Her mother is from the Kumyk people, and her father is from the Lezgin people. Hadise has an older sister, Hülya, a younger sister, Derya, and a younger brother, Murat. Her parents divorced when she was 11 years old.
When Hadise was 18, she tried out for Idool in 2003. This was the Belgian version of the Pop Idol TV show. She didn't make it to the finals. However, a manager named Johan Hendrickx noticed her talent. He was very impressed and offered her a record deal.
Music career highlights
Early albums: Sweat and Hadise
After signing her record deal, Hadise released her first song, "Sweat", in November 2004. Even without a music video, it reached number 19 on the Belgian music charts. Her next song, "Stir Me Up", became very popular in Turkey in 2006.
She then released "Milk Chocolate Girl", which was a big hit from her first album. It reached number 13 in Belgium. Her first album, also called Sweat, came out in November 2005. Hadise wrote about half of the songs on this album herself.

Hadise started working on her second album in late 2007. She recorded songs in different countries like Belgium, France, Turkey, and Italy. The first song from this album was "A Good Kiss", released in September 2007. This song was also very successful in Turkey. It was later translated into Turkish as "Deli Oğlan" by Sezen Aksu. This Turkish version became one of the most played songs in clubs during the summer of 2008.

Her second album, Hadise, was released in June 2008. It became her most successful album so far. It was the first of her albums to appear on the Belgian Album chart. Hadise helped write ten of the songs on this album. In 2008, she was nominated for the Best Turkish Act at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards.
Eurovision and new albums
In 2007, Hadise said she would not join the Eurovision Song Contest. But a year later, she changed her mind. She wanted to represent Turkey, not Belgium. She felt that Eurovision was more popular in Turkey.
On October 24, 2008, it was announced that Hadise would represent Turkey in the Eurovision Song Contest 2009. She had full control over her song choice. On December 31, 2008, Hadise performed "Düm Tek Tek" for the first time. This song was chosen for the competition.

To promote her song, she traveled to many countries. On May 16, 2009, Hadise performed "Düm Tek Tek" in Moscow, Russia. Turkey finished in fourth place with 177 points.
Hadise then worked on her third album, Fast Life. It was released on May 15, 2009, just before the Eurovision final. This album had only English songs. "Düm Tek Tek" became her first number-one song in Belgium. The album also reached number one on music lists in Indonesia.

Soon after, Hadise released her first Turkish album, Kahraman, on June 19, 2009. She worked with the same producer as "Düm Tek Tek". Hadise said this album was very personal to her. The song "Evlenmeliyiz" was the first single from this album. It reached the top 40 in Turkey. By the end of 2009, Hadise was named the most popular celebrity of the year.
Later albums: Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer?, Tavsiye, and Şampiyon
Hadise's second Turkish album, Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer?, came out on April 11, 2011. It sold over 35,000 copies in Turkey. The first song, "Superman", quickly became popular and was one of the most downloaded songs that year. Two other songs, "Aşk Kaç Beden Giyer?" and "Mesajımı Almıştır O", also had music videos.
In June 2012, Hadise released a song called "Biz Burdayız". She also released another song called "Visal", which was in the dubstep style.
Her sixth album, Tavsiye (meaning "Advice"), was released in August 2014. It sold 16,000 copies in Turkey. Hadise said the album's songs offered advice for women. The first song from the album was "Nerdesin Aşkım". The music video was directed by her older sister, Hülya Açıkgöz. "Prenses" was the second single. "Nerdesin Aşkım?" and "Bu Aralar" became number-one hits in Turkey.
Hadise's seventh album, Şampiyon (meaning "Champion"), was released in June 2017. The title song's music video came out on the same day. Another song, "Sıfır Tolerans", became number one on the Turkish charts. In 2019, Hadise released a new song called "Geliyorum Yanına".
In September 2020, her single "Küçük Bir Yol" was released. In February 2021, she released her second EP (a shorter album) called Aşka Kapandım. The main song, "Olsun", had a music video directed by Şenol Korkmaz. In June 2021, Hadise released the song "Hay Hay".
Television career
In 2006, Hadise hosted Popstar Türkiye, which was her first TV hosting job in Turkey. From 2008 to 2009, she hosted the second season of the Belgian X Factor. She was praised for her work on the show. Since 2011, Hadise has been a judge on O Ses Türkiye, the Turkish version of The Voice.

Products and endorsements
In 2009, Hadise signed a deal with Yedigün, a Turkish soda company. This deal included her appearing in TV commercials and on billboards.
In October 2021, Hadise started her own clothing brand called Kert. Her products were sold online.
Helping others
In September 2009, Hadise supported the "Schools without Bullying" campaign in Belgium. She shared that she was bullied as a child because of her clothes and her background. She wanted to be part of the project because she cared about children and understood how important it was to stop bullying.
Acting
Hadise has been offered roles in two films but has turned them down. One offer was for a main role in a Turkish movie about two sisters.
Personal life
Hadise married businessman Mehmet Dinçerler on April 30, 2022. They divorced later that year on September 30, 2022.
