Before becoming a singer, she worked as a model. She appeared in music videos and TV commercials. In 1999, she became a broadcaster for the Arab Radio and Television Network. She began her singing career in 2001 and quickly became popular, performing concerts in many Arab countries. She later starred in the popular 2009 film Dokan Shehata.

Life and Career

Early Life and Beginnings

Haifa Wehbe was born in Mahrouna, a village in southern Lebanon. Her father is Lebanese, and her mother is Egyptian. She grew up in Lebanon's capital city, Beirut. She has three sisters and one brother.

When she was sixteen, Haifa won the title of Miss South Lebanon. She was also a runner-up in the Miss Lebanon competition. However, she could not keep the title because it was discovered that she had been married and had a child, which was against the competition's rules.

Music and Television Stardom

2004–2007: Baddi Aech

In early 2005, Haifa released her second album, Baddi Aech, which means "I Want to Live." The main song was about freedom and human rights. It was released after the Lebanese politician Rafik Hariri was killed. Another song from the album, "Aana Haifa" ("I Am Haifa"), became one of her biggest hits.

In 2006, she released a popular children's song called "Bus al-Wawa" ("Kiss the Booboo"). The song was used in a Pepsi commercial and was voted Song of the Year by two radio stations.

2008–2012: Films and More Music

Haifa starred in her first movie, Sea of Stars, in 2008. The film was produced by Pepsi and featured other famous singers. Later that year, she released her third album, Habibi Aana ("My Love").

In 2010, she released a children's album called Baby Haifa. A song from this album, "Baba Fein," became a huge hit across the Middle East. In 2012, she released the album Malikat Jamal Al Kawn (MJK), which means "Miss Universe."

2013–Present: Recent Work

In 2014, Haifa was a judge on the TV show Your Face Sounds Familiar, where celebrities impersonate famous singers. In August 2014, she released an English song and music video called "Breathing You In."

In 2018, she released her seventh album, Hawwa. She produced this album herself without a record label. It quickly reached number one on iTunes charts. In 2021, she released a song with Egyptian artist Akram Hosni called “Law Kont,” which became a number-one hit in the Middle East.

Personal Life

In the 1990s, Haifa married her cousin when she was 18. They had a daughter named Zeinab. The couple later separated. Haifa now has two granddaughters.

In 2007, she had a scary accident while filming a music video. A small airplane was supposed to chase her car for a scene, but it accidentally hit the car. The plane's propeller tore off the car's windshield. Luckily, Haifa only had minor cuts and bruises.

She married an Egyptian businessman in 2009, but they separated in 2012.

Social Views

During the 2006 Lebanon War, Haifa moved to Egypt for safety. She showed support for her country and its leader, Hassan Nasrallah, for standing up for Lebanon. She refused to perform in any concerts during the war, saying there were other ways to support her country.

Haifa has shown support for all of her fans. In 2019, she launched a fashion brand called Beau Voyou that used rainbow colors. She said, "For me, equality goes all the way," and encouraged people to "celebrate unrestricted and boundless love."
