Hainsfarth is a small municipality or town located in the region of Bavaria in Germany. It's part of the Donau-Ries district. The current mayor of Hainsfarth is Ursula Seefried.
Hainsfarth is known for its interesting history, especially its connection to a large Jewish community.
A Look at Hainsfarth's History
Hainsfarth has a special past, particularly because of its Jewish residents. In 1810, about 40% of the people living there were Jewish. This made the community very important to the town.
The Synagogue and Cemetery
Since 1710, Hainsfarth has had a synagogue, which is a special place of worship for Jewish people. Sadly, this synagogue was destroyed in 1938 by the Nazis. This was a very difficult time for the Jewish community.
However, the people of Hainsfarth worked to rebuild. The synagogue was restored in 1996, showing the community's strength. The town also has a Jewish cemetery, which is a burial ground. This cemetery was also damaged by the Nazis but has since been restored.
