Harold Steinbrenner (born December 3, 1969) is an American businessman. He is best known for being the leader of the company that owns the New York Yankees. This is a famous baseball team in Major League Baseball (MLB). He also owns a small part of other sports teams. These include the New York City Football Club (a soccer team) and AC Milan (an Italian soccer team). Hal and his brothers and sisters took over the Yankees after their father, George Steinbrenner, passed away in 2010.

His Family and School Days
Hal Steinbrenner is the younger son of George Steinbrenner (1930–2010) and Elizabeth Joan Steinbrenner (1935–2018). He has two sisters, Jessica and Jennifer. His older brother, Hank Steinbrenner, passed away in 2020.
Hal went to Culver Military Academy for high school. After that, he studied at Williams College. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree there in 1991. Later, he got a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Florida in 1994.
His family also owns parts of other businesses. They own over 25% of YES Network, which shows sports. They also own 20% of New York City FC and a part of Legends Hospitality. Plus, they own 10% of the Italian soccer team AC Milan.
Leading the Yankees
Starting in 2007, Hal's father, George Steinbrenner, began to give him more control. George's health was not good, so Hal and his brother Hank started running the Yankees. On September 28, 2007, Hal Steinbrenner was chosen to lead the board of Yankee Global Enterprises. This is the company that owns the Yankees.
In 2008, other team owners in Major League Baseball agreed. They approved Hal Steinbrenner taking over the daily running of the Yankees.
Since Hal took charge, the Yankees have done very well. They won the 2009 World Series. They also won the American League pennant twice. The team has made it to the playoffs eleven times. In 2009, they also opened a brand new home, Yankee Stadium.
In 2011, Hal made a big decision. He signed pitcher Rafael Soriano to a large contract. This was different from what the team's general manager, Brian Cashman, wanted.
In August 2022, Hal Steinbrenner bought a small part of the Italian soccer team AC Milan.
Other Things He Does
Hal Steinbrenner is also the head of Steinbrenner Hotel Properties. He is also on the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club in Tampa Bay. This group helps young people.
His Personal Life
Hal Steinbrenner enjoys flying planes. He owns two types of planes: a GTO single-engine and a Cessna high-wing plane.
He is married to Cristina DiTullio. She is from Staten Island, New York. Hal has a daughter named Katherine, born in 1997. She is from his first marriage to Christina Lavery.
