Halal Gang is a Canadian hip hop collective from Toronto, Ontario. The group started in 2010. Most of its members have Muslim backgrounds. They also have roots from East Africa and the Caribbean.
The group formed when young people from Regent Park in Toronto wanted to make music. The first members included Puffy L'z, Mustafa the Poet, Mo-G, Safe, and Smoke Dawg. Mo-G has sometimes worked on his own music. His fans often hope he will become more involved with Halal Gang again.
