The Story of Ham's
Ham's Restaurant first opened its doors in 1935. This was in Greensboro, North Carolina. Many years later, in 1984, a person named Charlie Erwin bought the first restaurant. He helped the business grow a lot. Soon, there were over 20 Ham's restaurants. They were spread across North Carolina and southern Virginia.
Changes Over Time
In 2009, the company faced some financial difficulties. It had to file for bankruptcy. This means it needed help to manage its money. The company was then sold to new owners. The new owners kept Ham's going. But they made some big changes. They closed many older restaurants. They also opened new ones with fresh ideas. Sadly, the very last Ham's restaurant closed in 2022. This location was in High Point, North Carolina. It closed because it didn't have enough staff. This closure marked the end of the Ham's restaurant chain.
