Hamad Mohsen Al-Montashari (born on June 22, 1982) is a famous former footballer from Saudi Arabia. He played as a central defender. Hamad spent his whole career playing for the club Al-Ittihad.
He was recognized as the best player in Asia when he won the 2005 Asian Football Player of the Year award. Hamad also proudly represented his country, Saudi Arabia, in big tournaments. These included the 2006 FIFA World Cup and two AFC Asian Cups.

Club Career
Hamad Al-Montashari started his professional football journey in 2001. He joined the club Al-Ittihad and stayed with them for his entire career. He played for Al-Ittihad until 2016. During his time there, he played in 300 games and scored 61 goals. This is a lot for a defender!
International Career
Hamad also played for the Saudi Arabia national team. He joined the national team in 2002. He played for his country until 2011. He appeared in 54 matches for Saudi Arabia and scored 8 goals.
He was part of the Saudi Arabian squad for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He also played in the AFC Asian Cup in 2004 and 2011.
