History of Hankou Station
Hankou railway station first opened in 1991. It was built for the Beijing–Hankou Railway, which is a major train line. Before this station, an older one called Dazhimen Station was used. Hankou station replaced it to handle more passengers and trains.
Later, the Wuhan Metro system also connected to the station. This new subway service started on December 28, 2012. This made it even easier for people to travel around Wuhan and beyond.
In January 2020, the station was temporarily closed. This happened because of a health situation in the city. It reopened later, from March 28 to April 5, allowing people to travel again.
