Hanna City is a small village in Peoria County, Illinois, in the United States. In 2010, about 1,225 people lived there. It's part of the larger Peoria area.

Hanna City started in 1882. It was named after William Hanna, who was the boss of the Peoria-Farmington Railroad. This train line went right through the village. At first, Hanna City was a farming community. But soon, coal was found deep under the ground. The coal mine was very important for the town. It helped Hanna City grow and stay strong for more than 50 years. The main mine entrance was close to Second Street and the railroad tracks.
