Hannah Louise Miley (born August 8, 1989) is a Scottish former competitive swimmer. She was especially good at the Individual Medley, a race where swimmers use all four main strokes. When she was younger, Hannah trained at the Inverurie Swimming Centre.

Hannah swam for Great Britain in three Olympic Games. In each Olympics, she reached the final for the 400 metres individual medley. She finished sixth in 2008, fifth in 2012, and fourth in 2016. She also won many medals in the 400 m individual medley. These include a World short-course championship in 2012 and a European championship in 2010. She was also a two-time European short-course champion in 2009 and 2012. Representing Scotland, she became a two-time Commonwealth champion in 2010 and 2014.

Hannah Miley's Swimming Career

Hannah Miley has had a very successful swimming career. She won many important races and represented her country with pride.

Early Success and Commonwealth Games

In 2010, Hannah represented Scotland at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. She won a gold medal in the 400m individual medley. This was a big achievement for her.

She also swam for Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics in two events. These were the 200m and 400m individual medley races. At the 2012 London Olympics, she competed in the 400m individual medley and finished in 5th place.

World and European Championships

In 2012, Hannah Miley became a world and European champion in the 400m individual medley for short course pools. She was the first British swimmer to win three individual medals at a European Short Course Championships since 1999. Later that year, she won two medals at the World Short Course Championships. One of these was her first world title ever.

In 2014, Hannah kept her 400m individual medley title at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She reached seven finals at these Games and won two medals in total.

Later Career and Recognition

Hannah Miley made her debut in the Arena Pro Swim Series in February 2015. She won gold in the 200m freestyle and 400m individual medley. She earned six medals overall in that series. In March 2017, she added two more medals, including another gold in her best event.

Hannah Miley has also supported the Kellogg's Free Kids Swim campaign. She was the face of this campaign, encouraging children to swim.

In 2019, Hannah was an ambassador for the LEN Short Course Championships held in Glasgow.

For her great contributions to swimming and supporting women in sport, Hannah Miley was given an award. She was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2022 Birthday Honours.

Personal Life

Hannah Miley is married to Euan. In 2023, she became a mother to a daughter. Hannah has shared that it was a "whirlwind" experience because her daughter was born a few weeks early.
