Hannah Louise Miley (born August 8, 1989) is a Scottish former competitive swimmer. She is famous for her skills in the Individual Medley swimming style. Hannah trained at the Inverurie Swimming Centre when she was younger.

She has represented Great Britain in three Olympic Games. In each Olympics, she reached the final for the 400-meter individual medley. She finished sixth in 2008, fifth in 2012, and fourth in 2016. Hannah has also won many medals in the 400m individual medley. These include a World short-course title in 2012 and a European title in 2010. She also won two European short-course titles in 2009 and 2012. Representing Scotland, she won two Commonwealth Games titles in 2010 and 2014.

Hannah's Swimming Journey

Hannah Miley represented Scotland at the 2010 Commonwealth Games. There, she won a gold medal in the 400m individual medley. This was a big win for her and for Scotland.

She also swam for Great Britain at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 200m and 400m individual medley events. At the 2012 London Olympics, she competed in the 400m individual medley and finished in 5th place.

In 2012, Hannah became the world and European champion in the 400m individual medley for short course swimming. She was the first British swimmer to win three individual medals at a European Short Course Championships since 1999. Later that year, she won two medals at the World Short Course Championships. This included her first world title!

In 2014, Hannah successfully defended her 400m individual medley title at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. During these Games, she reached seven finals and won two medals in total.

Hannah Miley also supported the LEN Short Course Championships in Glasgow in 2019 as an ambassador. She was given the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) award in 2022. This award recognized her great contributions to swimming and to women in sports.

About Hannah's Life

Hannah Miley was born in Swindon, England. A few months after she was born, her family moved to Inverurie, Scotland. She went to Inverurie Academy and later graduated from Robert Gordon University.

Hannah is married to Euan. In 2023, they welcomed their daughter. Hannah has shared that having her daughter was a very exciting time.
