Hanover is a small village located in Licking County, Ohio, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,270 people lived there. The village is found along Ohio State Route 16.
History of Hanover
Hanover was officially started in 1849. However, people were already doing business and living in the area before that time. The village was once called Fleming. This name came from John Fleming, who was the first owner of the land where the village now stands.
Geography of Hanover
Hanover is located in Licking County. The United States Census Bureau says that the village covers a total area of about 1.68 square miles (4.35 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 1.66 square miles (4.30 square kilometers), is land. A very small part, about 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometers), is water.
