Harris Walter Fawell (born March 25, 1929 – died November 11, 2021) was an American politician from Illinois. He was a member of the Republican Party. He served in the United States House of Representatives from 1985 to 1999.

Early Life and Education
Harris Fawell grew up in West Chicago, Illinois. He went to West Chicago High School. After high school, he studied at North Central College from 1947 to 1949. He then went to Chicago-Kent College of Law.
He became a lawyer in 1952. Mr. Fawell worked as a lawyer from 1954 to 1984. He also served as an Assistant State Attorney for DuPage County, Illinois. His sister-in-law, Beverly Fawell, was also a politician in Illinois.
Serving in Illinois
In 1962, Harris Fawell was elected to the Illinois Senate. He served as a Republican member from 1963 to 1977. During this time, he also attended the Republican National Conventions in 1968 and 1988. At these conventions, he was a "delegate," meaning he represented his state's party.
Time in Congress
In 1984, Harris Fawell was elected to the United States House of Representatives. He represented Illinois' 13th district. He served in Congress until he retired in 1999. His official papers from his time in Congress are kept at North Central College.
After Politics
After retiring from politics, Mr. Fawell continued to be involved in his community. He served on the Board of Trustees for North Central College. He also joined the Executive Council of the Chicago Metropolis 2020 group.
In 2008, during the presidential election, Fawell supported Barack Obama. Obama was a senator from Illinois, Fawell's home state. This was notable because Obama was from the opposing party.
Harris Fawell passed away on November 11, 2021. He died from complications related to Alzheimer's disease.
