Discovering Haría's Amazing Landscape
The western part of Haría is mostly covered by mountains. The coastline here rises sharply, creating amazing views. You can find many miradors, which are special viewpoints. From these spots, you can see incredible sights of the island. The most famous one is the Mirador del Río, a very popular place for tourists to visit.
To the southeast, the land is flatter. This area is often used for farming. You'll also find many small beach resorts along the coast, perfect for a sunny day!
The northeast of Haría is mostly empty. About 3,000 years ago, a volcano called Montaña Corona erupted. This eruption covered the land, creating a rough area known as the Malpais de la Corona. It's a bit like a rocky, wild landscape.
This same eruption also created long, hollow tunnels made of lava. These are called jameos. Some of these tunnels have been turned into two of the island's most visited natural attractions. These are the Cueva de los Verdes and the Jameos del Agua. They are super cool places to explore!
