Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo (born February 3, 1958 – died August 20, 2020) was an important Pakistani politician. He served as the Minister for Maritime Affairs from 2017 to 2018. Before that, he was also a minister in a different government. He was the President of the National Party. Bizenjo was an elected member of the Senate of Pakistan since 2009. He was also a former member of the National Assembly of Pakistan.
Political Journey
Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo began his political journey in 1990. He was elected as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. This is one of the two main houses of Pakistan's Parliament. He was re-elected to the National Assembly in 1997.
Later, he helped create a new political party. This party was called the Balochistan National Democratic Party. In 2003, his party joined with another group. This led to the creation of the National Party. In 2014, he became the president of this new party.
Serving in the Senate
In 2009, Bizenjo was elected to the Senate of Pakistan for the first time. The Senate is the other main house of Pakistan's Parliament. He was re-elected to the Senate in 2015. In 2015, he was even suggested to become the Chairman of the Senate.
Becoming a Minister
In 2016, he became the Minister for Ports and Shipping. This job involved looking after Pakistan's ports and shipping activities. He stopped being a minister in July 2017 when the government changed.
However, he was appointed again as a federal minister in August 2017. His role was then called the Minister for Ports and Shipping. In October 2017, this ministry was renamed the Ministry of Maritime Affairs. He continued in this role until May 2018. At that time, the National Assembly's term ended.
Later Years and Passing
In 2019, Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo was diagnosed with lung cancer. He passed away on August 20, 2020, in Karachi, Pakistan. He was 62 years old. The next day, on August 21, 2020, he was buried in his family graveyard. This is located in Naal, which is in the Khuzdar area.
