Hattie Morahan (born 7 October 1978) is a talented English actress. You might know her from movies like The Golden Compass (where she played Sister Clara) or Beauty and the Beast (as Agathe/The Enchantress). She has also been in popular TV shows such as The Bletchley Circle and Outnumbered. Hattie has a wide range of acting experience, from big films to stage plays.

Early Life and Education
Hattie Morahan was born in 1978 in London, England. Her parents are also well-known in the entertainment world. Her father, Christopher Morahan, was a director, and her mother, Anna Carteret, is an actress. Hattie has an older sister, Rebecca, who directs plays, and a half-brother, Andy, who directs music videos and films.
When Hattie was a child, she even met the famous actor Sir Laurence Olivier. He once helped her with her math homework!
Hattie went to Frensham Heights School. She later studied English at New Hall, Cambridge University, graduating in 2000. While at Cambridge, she was very active in student plays. She even won an award for her acting in a play called A View from the Bridge.
After university, Hattie's parents wanted her to go to a drama school. But Hattie was eager to start acting professionally. She told them she would only go if she didn't find work within a year. Luckily, she found work!

Hattie Morahan started her acting career at just 17 years old. Her first big role was in a BBC TV show called The Peacock Spring in 1996.
Theatre Work
Hattie has performed in many plays. In 2001, she joined the Royal Shakespeare Company, which is a very famous theatre group. She performed in plays like Hamlet.
She has also worked at the Royal National Theatre, playing important roles in plays such as Iphigenia at Aulis and The Seagull. For her role as Nina in The Seagull, she won an award in 2007.
One of her most praised theatre roles was as Nora in A Doll's House in 2012. Her performance earned her several awards, including Best Actress at the Evening Standard Awards. This play was so popular that it later moved to New York City!
