Hatton is a small village in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is sometimes called Hatton of Cruden. The village is located on the A90 road, which is a main route. It sits about halfway between the towns of Ellon and Peterhead.
Hatton is known for its biscuit factory. This factory used to be called Simmers. It supplied biscuits to famous shops like Marks and Spencer. Later, the factory was bought by McVities. It is now owned by Murdoch Allan and Sons. The village also has a local shop, a community hall, a primary school, and a small park for everyone to enjoy.
History of Hatton
There is strong proof that people lived in the Hatton area a very long time ago. One important sign is the ancient Catto Long Barrow. A long barrow is a type of long burial mound from the Stone Age.
There are also many tumuli nearby. Tumuli are ancient burial mounds or hills. These findings show that the area around Hatton has been home to humans for thousands of years.

Past Railway Connections
Hatton once had its own train station. It was called Hatton railway station. This station was part of the Boddam Branch railway line. It served the village from 1897 until 1932. After 1932, trains no longer stopped in Hatton.
Hatton Airfield
Hatton also has a small, private airfield. It is known as Hatton Airfield or Ardiffery Mains. This airfield is located about 1.4 miles (2.2 kilometers) south of Hatton. It is less than 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) from the coast.
The airfield has one grass runway. This runway is believed to be used only by the farmer who owns the land. The airfield is part of the Scottish Centre air traffic control area.
