Hayden Creek is a small river located in Otsego County, in the state of New York, United States. It starts its journey northeast of a place called Springfield Center. From there, it flows mostly south until it reaches the beautiful Otsego Lake. This creek is an important part of the local water system.

The Journey of Hayden Creek

Hayden Creek begins its flow in the northeastern part of Springfield. It starts as a small stream and heads southwest.

Passing Through Summit Lake

As Hayden Creek continues its journey, it flows directly into Summit Lake. This lake acts like a natural stop along the creek's path. After leaving Summit Lake, the creek changes direction slightly. It then flows southward, passing under a major road called U.S. Route 20.

Reaching Shipman Pond

Next, Hayden Creek flows into another body of water known as Shipman Pond. This pond is another important landmark on the creek's route.

Flowing Through Springfield Center

After leaving Shipman Pond, the creek keeps flowing south. It passes right through the middle of Springfield Center. You can often see the creek as it winds its way through this community.

Into Otsego Lake

Finally, Hayden Creek completes its journey. It flows into the large and scenic Otsego Lake. This happens just south of Springfield Center. Otsego Lake is a significant lake in the region, and Hayden Creek contributes its waters to it.
