Hayter is a small community known as a hamlet in central Alberta, Canada. It is located about 0.6 kilometers (0.4 miles) south of Highway 13. Hayter is roughly 103 kilometers (64 miles) south of Lloydminster.
The community was founded in 1909. It was named after the president of CP Hotels, a well-known hotel company.
