School and Music Beginnings
Hebro went to an Orthodox yeshiva (a Jewish school) from second grade through high school. After that, he studied in Israel. He has said that growing up Black in mostly white Orthodox schools was often hard.
His family loved to sing. After high school, Hebro started making music. He performed freestyle raps at parties and weddings. He also joined "Battle of the Bands" contests. He performed in Israel and later at Queens College in America.
Finding His Passion
At Queens College, Hebro helped organize music events for the campus Chabad. This is where he found his love for singing live. After a special Jewish holiday called Lag BaOmer, he decided to stay in Crown Heights. He wanted to spend time improving his music skills.
