Hedingen is a small town, also known as a municipality, located in the Affoltern district. It is part of the canton of Zürich in Switzerland.

History of Hedingen

Hedingen was first mentioned in official records way back in 1116. This means its name appeared in a document from that year, showing it was an established place even then.

Geography of Hedingen

Hedingen covers an area of about 6.6 square kilometers (about 2.5 square miles).

Most of the land in Hedingen is used for nature and farming. Almost half of the land (48%) is used for agricultural purposes, like growing crops or raising animals. About a third (32.6%) is covered by beautiful forests. The rest of the land (18.6%) has buildings and roads where people live and work.
