Henry Otway Trevor, 21st Baron Dacre, also known as a CB (born 27 July 1777 – died 2 June 1853), was an important British peer and soldier. He served in the British Army for many years.
Early Life and Family
Henry Otway Brand was born on 27 July 1777. He was the second son of Thomas Brand. His mother was the 19th Baroness Dacre.
Military Career
Henry Otway Trevor had a long and active military career. In 1807, he fought in the Battle of Copenhagen. He also led the 1st Battalion of the Coldstream Guards during the Peninsular War. During this war, he took part in several important battles. These included the Battle of Salamanca, Battle of Talavera, and Battle of Buçaco.
In 1815, he was given a special award. He became a Companion of the Order of the Bath. Later, he inherited land from his cousin, John Trevor-Hampden, 3rd Viscount Hampden. Because of this, he changed his last name to Trevor. In 1851, he became a General in the army. That same year, he also inherited his brother's title, becoming the 21st Baron Dacre. His brother had no children.
Personal Life

On 24 August 1806, Henry Otway Trevor married Pyne Crosbie. She was the sister of William Crosbie, 4th Baron Brandon. Pyne had been married before to Sir John Gordon, 6th Baronet. Henry and Pyne had six children together:
- Hon. Thomas Crosbie William, who later became the 22nd Baron Dacre (1808–1890).
- Hon. Henry Bouverie William, who later became the 23rd Baron Dacre and 1st Viscount Hampden (1814–1892).
- Hon. Pyne Jesse (died 1872). She married Sir John Henry Cotterell and had one son, Sir Geers Cotterell, 3rd Baronet. After her first husband died, she married Granville Harcourt-Vernon.
- Hon. Julia (died 1858). She married Samuel Charles Whitbread.
- Hon. Gertrude (died 1883). She married Sir George Seymour.
- Hon. Frederica Mary Jane (1812–1873).
Lord Dacre passed away in 1853. After his death, his title was passed on to his oldest son, Thomas.
