Heusler got its start a long time ago. In 1893, a post office was opened there. A post office is where people send and receive mail. The person in charge of this post office was named Ernest H. C. Heusler. He was the one who gave the community its name! The post office helped people connect with others by mail for about ten years, closing down in 1903.
