Hickory Creek is a town in Denton County, Texas, United States. It is about 30 miles (48 km) north of downtown Dallas. The town has grown a lot since it started in 1963. Back then, only 219 people lived there. By the 2020 census, the population was 4,718. Hickory Creek is also one of the four communities known as the Lake Cities.
In August 2008, Hickory Creek was named a Tree City USA. This means the town works hard to care for its trees and green spaces.
