Hicksville is a small village located in Defiance County, Ohio, United States. It is found about 2.2 miles east of the border between Ohio and Indiana. In 2020, the village had a population of 3,431 people. Hicksville's motto is "A Proud Past, A Bright Future."

History of Hicksville
Hicksville was planned out in 1835 and 1836 by the Hicks Land Company. This company was led by Henry W. Hicks, who the village is named after. A post office has been serving the community since 1838.
The village officially became an incorporated village in 1871. Hicksville even appeared in a famous book! In 1885, Mark Twain mentioned the town in his book Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. In the story, Tom Sawyer pretends to be a stranger from Hicksville, Ohio.
