Hideaki Kitajima (北嶋 秀朗, Kitajima Hideaki, born May 23, 1978) is a famous Japanese football player. He played as a forward and was known for his goal-scoring skills. Kitajima also represented the Japan national team. After his playing career, he became a manager. He is set to manage the JFL club, Criacao Shinjuku, starting in 2024.

Playing for Clubs

Hideaki Kitajima was born in Narashino, Japan, on May 23, 1978. After finishing high school, he joined Kashiwa Reysol in 1997. He quickly became an important player for the team.

In 1999, Kitajima played in many matches. That year, Kashiwa Reysol won the J.League Cup, which was a big achievement. The club also finished third in the J1 League in 1999 and 2000.

Later, his chances to play became fewer. So, in 2003, he moved to Shimizu S-Pulse. He played there for three seasons. In 2006, he returned to his former club, Kashiwa Reysol.

His second time at Kashiwa Reysol was very successful. In 2011, the team won the J1 League championship. This was a major victory for the club and for Kitajima. In June 2012, he moved to Roasso Kumamoto. He played there until the end of the 2013 season, when he decided to retire from playing football.

Playing for Japan

In October 2000, Hideaki Kitajima was chosen to play for the Japan national team. This was for the 2000 Asian Cup.

He made his first appearance for Japan on October 17, 2000. In that game against Uzbekistan, he scored a goal! Japan won that match with a score of 8-1.

He played two games in the Asian Cup, and Japan went on to win the championship. Overall, he played three games for Japan in 2000 and scored one goal.

Becoming a Manager

On November 16, 2023, Hideaki Kitajima was announced as the new manager for the JFL club, Criacao Shinjuku. He will start his role for the 2024 season. This marks a new chapter in his football career, moving from playing to leading a team.
