Hideaki Kitajima (born May 23, 1978) is a famous Japanese football player. He used to play as a forward, scoring many goals for his teams. After a great career on the field, he became a football manager. He is currently the manager for the JFL club, Criacao Shinjuku.

Playing for Different Teams
Hideaki Kitajima was born in Narashino, Japan. He started his professional football journey in 1997. His first team was Kashiwa Reysol.
He quickly became an important player for Kashiwa Reysol. In 1999, his team won the J.League Cup. They also finished third in the J1 League in both 1999 and 2000.
Later, Hideaki moved to another team called Shimizu S-Pulse in 2003. He played there for a few years. In 2006, he returned to his first club, Kashiwa Reysol.
His second time with Kashiwa Reysol was very successful. In 2011, the team won the top Japanese league, the J1 League championship. This was a huge achievement for the club.
In 2012, he joined Roasso Kumamoto. He played there until the end of 2013. After that season, Hideaki Kitajima decided to retire from playing professional football.
Playing for His Country
Hideaki Kitajima also played for the Japan national football team. This is a big honor for any player. He was chosen to play for Japan in October 2000.
His first game for Japan was in the 2000 AFC Asian Cup. On October 17, he played against Uzbekistan. He even scored a goal in his very first international match!
Japan performed very well in that tournament. They went on to win the Asian Cup championship. Hideaki played three games for his country in 2000 and scored one goal.
Becoming a Coach
After retiring as a player, Hideaki Kitajima decided to stay in football. He wanted to share his knowledge and experience. He started a new career as a football manager.
On November 16, 2023, he was announced as the new manager for Criacao Shinjuku. This team plays in the Japan Football League (JFL). He began his role as manager in 2024.
