What It Looks Like
The Hierodoris electrica moth is quite small. Its wingspan is about 15 to 16.5 millimeters wide. That's about the size of a small coin!
The front wings of the moth are mostly dark brown. They have many thin, yellow scales on top, which gives them a cool pattern. The back wings are brown, but they are darker towards the edges.
What It Eats
Scientists believe that the young moths, called larvae, might eat plants from the Ozothamnus family. However, some moths have also grown up from larvae found on Olearia nummulifolia plants. This suggests they might eat different types of plants.
