Hikmet Bilâ (pronounced [hicˈmet ˈbilaː]; 1954 – 21 October 2011) was a well-known Turkish journalist and writer. He was famous for writing articles in newspapers and for his three books about Turkey's political history.

Hikmet Bilâ was born in 1954 in Zonguldak, a city in Turkey. After finishing high school, he went to Ankara University. He studied international relations there and earned his degree.
His Career in Journalism
Hikmet Bilâ started his career in journalism in 1973. His first job was at a daily newspaper called Yeni Ulus. Over the years, he wrote many articles for different Turkish newspapers. These included Milliyet, Cumhuriyet, and Vatan. He also worked as the main editor for NTV, a big news channel in Turkey.
His Later Years
Hikmet Bilâ passed away on October 21, 2011, at his home in Ankara. He was 57 years old. His funeral was held at Teşvikiye Mosque. He was buried the next day at Ulus Cemetery. His brother, Fikret Bilâ, who is also a journalist, wrote a touching article about him after his passing.
