Just 3 miles west of Hindsville is Hindsville Lake. This lake is special because it is one of the oldest man-made lakes in Arkansas. It was built in March 1950. This means it was the very first lake built by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. In 2007, the lake was temporarily emptied so that its dam could be fixed.
