Hiroshi Kiyotake (清武 弘嗣, Kiyotake Hiroshi, born 12 November 1989) is a Japanese professional footballer. He plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger. Currently, he plays for the J2 League club Oita Trinita.
Hiroshi Kiyotake has also played for the Japan national team. He even represented Japan at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Hiroshi Kiyotake's Club Journey
In the summer of 2012, Kiyotake joined the German club 1. FC Nürnberg. He signed a four-year agreement with them. During his time there, he played in 64 matches and helped score 18 goals. He also scored seven goals himself.
Kiyotake then moved to another German club, Hannover 96, in 2014. He signed a four-year contract with this team as well.
On June 24, 2016, Kiyotake transferred to La Liga side Sevilla in Spain. This move happened after Hannover 96 moved down to a lower league. He signed a four-year contract with Sevilla.
On February 1, 2017, Kiyotake was announced as a player for Cerezo Osaka in Japan. On December 23, 2019, he signed a new agreement to stay with the club for the 2020 season.
On July 7, 2024, Kiyotake played for Sagan Tosu temporarily. This was a six-month loan agreement.
On December 19, 2024, Cerezo Osaka announced that Kiyotake's contract would not continue for the 2025 season.
Just two days later, on December 21, 2024, it was announced that Kiyotake would be joining Oita Trinita. This is the club where he started his professional career.
Playing for Japan
Kiyotake played his first game for the Japan national team on August 10, 2011. This match was against South Korea.
He scored his first goal for Japan on November 14, 2012. This goal came in the 20th minute against the Oman national football team.
On July 2, 2012, Kiyotake was chosen to be part of the Japan squad for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
He was also called up to play in other big tournaments. These included the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup on June 5, 2013. He also played in the 2014 FIFA World Cup after being called up on May 12, 2014.
Later, on December 15, 2014, Kiyotake was selected for the 2015 AFC Asian Cup.
