Hitchita is found near an area called the High Spring Mountains. The town covers a total area of about 0.1 square miles (0.29 square kilometers), and all of it is land.
Hitchita is located southeast of Okmulgee and northeast of Henryetta. It is also directly north of Lake Eufaula, which is the largest lake in Oklahoma.
