Hoconuco Alto is a small community, also known as a barrio, located in the municipality of San Germán, Puerto Rico. In 2010, about 572 people lived there. It's a quiet area known for its natural beauty and peaceful surroundings.
A Look Back in Time
Puerto Rico became a territory of the United States after the Spanish–American War in 1898. This happened because of a special agreement called the Treaty of Paris. In 1899, the United States government counted the people living in Puerto Rico. They found that 943 people lived in Hoconuco Alto barrio at that time.
