Holy Trinity Church is an old church located in Bolventor, a village in Cornwall, England. It used to be a Church of England church. This church was built between 1846 and 1848. It served the local community until it closed its doors in 1981. Since 1988, it has been recognized as a Grade II listed building. This means it is an important historical structure that needs to be protected.
History of Holy Trinity Church
Building the Church
When Bolventor became its own parish (a church district) in 1846, people decided they needed a new church. They planned for a church big enough for 150 people. The first stone of the church was placed in July 1846. It was laid by Francis Rashleigh Rodd, who was building the church. In 1847, a group called the Exeter Diocesan Church Building Society gave £100 to help pay for it. The whole church cost £666 to build. Bishop Henry Phillpotts officially opened the church on July 7, 1848.
Closure and New Life
The church was repaired and updated in 1965. However, fewer people started attending services. Because of this, Holy Trinity Church closed in June 1981. In 2011, private owners bought the church. They received permission to turn the old church into a home. After some of the conversion work was done, the church was sold again in 2018.
