Hometown's Early History
Hometown is the oldest village in Rush Township. It was started in 1829 by a family named Duncan from Philadelphia. They opened a hotel there.
In 1831, Jacob Faust took over the hotel. It is said that Hometown was a favorite place for the original Native American people who lived in the area.
