Hong Yuanshuo (simplified Chinese: 洪元硕; traditional Chinese: 洪元碩; pinyin: Hóng Yuánshuò; born March 31, 1948 – died August 1, 2015) was a famous Chinese football coach and a former player. He spent his entire playing career with the Beijing football team. He even helped them win a league title in 1973. After he stopped playing, he became a scout, finding new talented players. Later, he became a manager. In 2009, he led his old team, Beijing Guoan, to win the Chinese Super League championship.

Hong Yuanshuo's Playing Days

In the early 1970s, Hong Yuanshuo joined the Beijing football team. He played as a winger, which is a player who runs along the sides of the field. He was so good that he became the team captain. In 1973, he was chosen to play for the Chinese national team. That same year, his Beijing team won the league title.

Becoming a Football Manager
