Hoscheid (which is called Houschent in Luxembourgish) used to be a small local area, like a town or village, in Luxembourg. It was part of a larger region known as the Diekirch canton.

On January 1, 2012, Hoscheid joined together with two other areas, Consthum and Hosingen. They all merged to create a brand new, bigger area called Parc Hosingen.

Hoscheid: A Village's Story

Hoscheid was once its own independent local area, known as a commune. In Luxembourg, a commune is like a small district or a group of villages that manage their own local services. Think of it as a small town or a collection of small towns working together.

What is a Commune?

A commune is a type of local government area. It's where people elect leaders to make decisions about things like local roads, schools, and community services. Hoscheid was one of these communes, handling its own local affairs.

Becoming Part of Parc Hosingen

Over time, some smaller communes in Luxembourg decided to join forces. This happened to Hoscheid on January 1, 2012. It merged with two neighboring communes, Consthum and Hosingen. This merger created a larger, new commune called Parc Hosingen. This change helped them work together more efficiently and share resources.

Where is Hoscheid Located?

Hoscheid is located in the northern part of Luxembourg. It was part of the Diekirch canton, which is a specific administrative region within the country. Luxembourg is a small country in Europe, known for its beautiful landscapes and rich history.
