How was a super cool British TV show that taught you how things work! It was an educational show, which means it helped kids learn about science, engineering, and everyday mysteries. It first aired in 1966 and was created by Jack Hargreaves.
The show was made by a company called Southern Television. Jack Hargreaves was also a presenter and helped manage the programs there. How ran for many years, from 1966 until 1981. The show stopped when Southern Television lost its license to broadcast.

The original How series was on TV for 18 seasons. It had about 250 episodes in total. Each episode was around 25 minutes long. The show explained how different things work. It covered topics from science experiments to everyday inventions.

How 2 (1990-2006)
In 1990, the show returned with a new name, How 2. A company called TVS brought it back. Fred Dinenage, one of the original presenters, came back too! He was joined by new presenters like Gareth Jones, Carol Vorderman, Gail McKenna, and Sian Lloyd.
How 2 was shown on Children's ITV, also known as CiTV. This version of the show was very successful. It ran for 16 years, finally ending in 2006. In 2019, you could even watch How 2 on Amazon Prime Video in the UK!
New How series (2020)
In 2019, the CITV channel decided to bring the show back again! A brand new series of How was planned to air in November 2020. Fred Dinenage returned for his third time as a presenter. He was joined by a new team of presenters: Vick Hope, Sam Homewood, and Frankie Vu. This shows how popular and timeless the "How" format is!
