The Huaytapallana mountain range is a beautiful group of mountains. It is located in the Andes of Peru. You can find it in the Junín Region. The name "Huaytapallana" might come from the Quechua language. It could mean "a place where you collect wild flowers."
This mountain range stretches for about 17 kilometers. It is found in the areas of Concepción and Huancayo. In 2011, a large part of Huaytapallana was made an Area of Regional Conservation. This means it's a special protected area. It covers about 22,406 hectares. This protection helps keep the natural beauty and wildlife safe.

Getting to Huaytapallana
The Huaytapallana mountain range is easy to reach. It's about a 2-hour drive from the city of Huancayo in the Junín Region. If you are coming from Lima, the capital of Peru, it's about an 8-hour drive northeast.
For people who enjoy climbing mountains, the starting point is called Virgen de las Nieves (Virgin of the Snow). This spot is located at 4,800 meters (15,748 feet) high. From Virgen de las Nieves, climbers can choose one of two paths to reach the top of Huaytapallana.
