The Bonus Arena is a cool indoor venue in Kingston upon Hull, England. It's located near the Hull Marina. This arena opened its doors in August 2018. Since then, it has hosted many exciting events. You can go there to see music concerts, comedy shows, and even sports events! It was first known as Hull Venue, but its name changed because of a sponsorship deal.
Building the Arena
The Bonus Arena was built on a special type of land called a brownfield site. This means the land was used for something else before, but then it was cleared to build something new. It's a way to reuse land in cities. The arena is located between the River Humber and the city centre of Hull. To make it strong, local steel from Scunthorpe was used in its construction.
What Happens at the Arena?
Since it opened, the Bonus Arena has been a busy place! It hosts all sorts of fun events. You can catch live music from famous bands and singers. Many popular comedians also perform their shows here. Plus, the arena is big enough for sports events and other live entertainment. For example, it has hosted dance shows like Strictly Come Dancing Live! and even wrestling events like NXT UK (WWE brand). The Harlem Globetrotters have also shown off their amazing basketball skills there!
