History of Hustisford
Hustisford was named after John Hustis, who was an early settler in the area. He was one of the first people to establish a community here.

Hustisford is found at coordinates 43.345528 degrees North and -88.60135 degrees West.
The village covers a total area of about 1.10 square miles (2.85 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 0.89 square miles (2.31 square kilometers), is land. The rest, about 0.21 square miles (0.54 square kilometers), is water.
To the north, Hustisford is next to Lake Sinissippi. This is a shallow lake that gets its water from the Rock River. The Rock River flows from the Horicon Marsh, which is a famous bird sanctuary located north of Hustisford. During the winter, Lake Sinissippi is a popular spot for ice racing on Sundays in January and February.

In the mid-1800s, many German immigrants came to live in Hustisford. At one point, the village had two churches where services were held in German. One of these, Bethany Lutheran Church, continued to have German worship services even into the 1970s. Also, two out of three schools in the area used German as a language for teaching.
Hustisford's Population in 2010
According to the census from 2010, there were 1,123 people living in Hustisford. These people lived in 477 households, and 309 of these were families.
Most of the people in the village were White (97.2%). A small number were African American (0.5%), Native American (1.0%), or Asian (0.6%). About 2.9% of the population identified as Hispanic or Latino.
The average age of people in the village was about 39.4 years old. About 22.4% of residents were under 18, and 14.4% were 65 or older. The population was almost evenly split between males (52.1%) and females (47.9%).
Education in Hustisford
The Hustisford School District runs the public schools in the village, including Hustisford High School.
There is also Bethany Lutheran School, which is a Christian school for Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade. It is part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.
The Annual Toilet Bowl Event
Every year on January 1st, the Hustisford Fire Department puts on a special event called the Toilet Bowl Parade and Toilet Bowl game. The parade marches through downtown Hustisford twice, making it a fun sight to see.
The main event, the Toilet Bowl game, is an unpadded tackle football game held at Fireman's Park. To play in this unique game, you must have lived in Hustisford, attended Hustisford High School, or worked in the village. It's a local tradition that brings the community together.
