Hydrox facts for kids
Hydrox is a yummy cream-filled cookie sandwich. It is made by a company called Leaf Brands. This cookie first came out in 1908. For over 90 years, it was made by Sunshine Biscuits.
A very similar cookie, the Oreo, came out in 1912. The Oreo was actually inspired by Hydrox! Even though Hydrox was the first one, Oreo became much more popular. Because of this, many people thought Hydrox was just copying Oreo, but it was the other way around.
Hydrox cookies mostly stopped being made in 1999. This happened after Sunshine Biscuits was bought by Keebler. Later, Keebler was bought by Kellogg's. But good news! In September 2015, Leaf Brands brought Hydrox cookies back. Hydrox cookies have a cream filling that is not as sweet. Their cookie part is also crunchier. Many people say they don't get as soggy when dipped in milk!
