Leaf Brands, LLC is a company that makes candy. It is located in Newport Coast, Newport Beach, California, in the United States.
History of Leaf Brands
The original Leaf Candy Company started a long time ago, in the 1940s. This company grew to be one of the biggest candy makers in North America. They made many famous candies like Whoppers, Jolly Rancher, Milk Duds, and PayDay.
In 1996, the original Leaf company sold its U.S. candy business to The Hershey Company. After that, the Leaf company left the United States.
The Company's Return
Many years later, in 2011, the Leaf Brands company was brought back to life! It made its first public appearance at a big candy show called the Sweets & Snacks Expo.
Ellia Kassoff is the CEO of the new Leaf Brands. He is related to Ed Leaf, who might be connected to Sol S. Leaf, the person who started the first Leaf Candy Company.
One of the first things the new company did was bring back Hydrox cookies. These cookies were very popular before Oreos. Hydrox cookies had stopped being made in 1999. Leaf Brands got the rights to the Hydrox name and started making them again. You could buy them online through Amazon Marketplace starting in September 2015.
